Engadin Scuol

Engadin Scuol

The Lower Engadin with the town of Scuol at its centre and the spa Engadin Bad Scuol together with the Val Müstair is the home of the only national park in Switzerland. Many villages such as Ardez, Ftan and Sent have the typical Engadin houses with sgraffito work and authentic village life.

Indeed the village of Guarda was awarded the Wakker prize in 1995 and is also the home of  "Schellenursli" from the famous children’s book illustrated by Graubünden artist Alois Carigiet.

Duty-free status is enjoyed at the eastern tip of the canton by the holiday destination of Samnaun, which – like the whole of Lower Engadin – has been more quickly and easily accessible from Klosters in the Prättigau area in winter since the opening of the Vereina tunnel.
