Ideology of the municipality

Pontresina is a world-famous mountain health resort surrounded by mountains between 3000 and 4000 m high in the Bernina range. The municipality promotes a natural environment for humans, fauna and flora and endeavours to sustain it using an active environmental policy. Pontresina’s intact natural environment is its greatest asset. Therefore, the town is engaged on many different levels to preserve and protect this natural advantage.

Tradition and local customs are cherished in Pontresina. However, the people of Pontresina are also open to new developments in all areas of society. The Pontresina brand is constantly being enhanced on the basis of contemporary tourism strategies and active communication in all sectors.

The Municipality Pontresina strives to achieve sustainable growth of population, business, and tourism.
