Responsibilities

Tourism department of Municipality Pontresina

On 26 December 2006, the voters of the Upper Engadin decided to amalgamate all the tourism services in the valley and create the Tourism Organisation Engadin St. Moritz. This decision represented a pioneering step on the part of the region within the canton of Graubünden.

The fact that Pontresina recorded the largest proportion of votes in favour of the decision in the referendum and therefore actively supported this process of destination building was particularly gratifying. Pontresina wishes to develop itself further and is prepared to invest in regional tourism marketing. At the same time, the municipality also wants to strengthen and stabilise local structures. The following responsibilities continue to be covered locally within the tourist destination structure:

  • Formulation of basic values, positioning, and strategy
  • Formulation of performance contract for the regional marketing organisation
  • Coordination of proposals
  • Editing and distribution of information
  • Maintenance and establishment of tourism infrastructure
  • Operation of Convention and Event Centre Rondo
  • Coordination and management of events
  • Local marketing (products, infrastructure, internet, etc.)
