Freeriding

Escape the daily grind high above the sea of mist...

Cutting new tracks in freshly fallen snow and gliding through a spray of powder snow are feelings that are simply indescribable. Thanks to the high location, dry air and cold temperatures, the Engadin has the perfect off-piste slopes, bluffs and couloirs for freeriders.

Important: you leave the pistes at your own risk. Environmentally friendly behaviour and safety are important preconditions that must be observed. The updated avalanche situation report can be found in the daily bulletin of the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF in Davos.

During the winter season and in spring the Pontresina Mountaineering School and Go Vertical offer guided ski tours daily. The choice also includes a spectacular alpine ski tour programme suited to various levels of expertise.
