Ice Rinks & Curling Sport in Pontresina

ice skating Pontresina
Ice sports have a long tradition in the Engadin, which we encourage in Pontresina at the Roseg and Grand Hotel Kronenhof ice skating rinks. At the ice rink Roseg visitors can skate in comfort, play ice hockey (or rather "chneble", as the Swiss call it), or try their hand at the Curling Sport. This spacious natural ice rink is located at the lower part of the Town of Pontresina near the Sport Pavilion bus stop. The Giardin Restaurant serves visitors and ice-sport enthusiasts to delicious pizzas and more. The large sun terrace is a wonderful place to linger.

The Roseg Ice Rink

When visitors wish to skate in Town, then then the traditional and spacious Roseg Ice Rink is the natural choice. In addition to the ice rink, there are also curling rinks and an ice hockey rink, all prepared naturally with Winter ice. There are also catering facilities and a magnificent view of the Val Roseg and the surrounding mountains to offer. The Roseg Ice Rink is also open regularly and floodlit in the evenings. Best of all, visitors can rent skates there, free of charge from the Sports Ground Cloakroom.

The Curling Sport

The Roseg natural ice rink serves visitors with 10 to 12 perfectly maintained rinks, and this leaves nothing to be desired for the curling sport. Club-owned sets are available on all rinks. Depending on the weather conditions, the curling rinks are open from mid-December to the end of February. In bad weather or unfavourable conditions, the ice rink remains closed. And, incidentally, curling fans can also book the rinks for tournaments or fun games directly with the Curling Club Town of Pontresina.

Pontresina has been a centre of Swiss curling for years. Enthusiasts can let local experts introduce you to the art of curling or simply visit with friends and enjoy a sociable game of curling.
