Sailing Club St. Moritz
For many years, the St. Moritz Sailing Club, founded in 1941, has organized numerous class, Swiss, European, and world championships for dinghies and catamarans on Lake St. Moritz and Lake Silvaplana.
It also offers practical and theoretical instruction for beginners and advanced sailors on various boat types (Blu26, First Class 7) on Lake St. Moritz.
Preparation for the Swiss Federal Sailing Licence Category D takes about a week. The course length is based on experience with private lessons and on the fact that during the summer months, the wind blows strong enough every day to allow for regular practical instruction. Youth courses are held on Optis and Lasers.
The St. Moritz Sailing Club has a variety of boats available for rental by the hour, day, or week. In addition to Laser 16s, Laser standard and radials, catamarans, rowboats, and canoes are also available. The Sailing Club rents Optimists for children. Information and reservations are available directly from the sailing club.
For larger groups and events, the sailing club will be happy to provide you with a customized quote.
Life jackets are mandatory on Lake St. Moritz. Life jackets are available for rental at the sailing club. Wetsuits can be rented on-site.
