Bridge Punt ota

Engraved on the stone bridge is the inscription: 'In the year 1710, Flurin P. Tumaesch and Alesch Frauntz, community leader, FF.' This structure, dating back approximately 300 years, remains fully intact for pedestrians today. It remains uncertain whether the bridge builder was called Saraschin and if the name Punt (Romansh for bridge) Saraschina was the origin of the place name Puntraschina or Pontresina.
Tip: from the bridge, visitors have a captivating view of the Pontresina gorge. During winter, it's a prime spot for observing ice climbers, and the bridge serves as the starting point for the night cross-country trail.
