Heidi's-Hut
This is the original Alpöhi hut from the television adaptation (1978) of Johanna Spyri's world-famous novels from 1880 and 1881.
The 26-part children's series was filmed in the nearby village of Grevasalvas, located at 1,940 meters above sea level in the municipality of Sils im Engadin / Segl.
The log cabin was originally built in 1792 in the Bregaglia valley and moved to Alp Albana above Champfèr for filming in 1977.
The Heidi Hut has stood above St. Moritz since 1979 and here on Salastrains since 2003. It was renovated in the summer of 2021.
Local artist Reto Grond contributed the carved wooden figures inside the hut. In 2023, the Heidi story, or more specifically the Johanna Spyri Archive, as well as the Heidi Archive in Zurich, were added to the UNESCO Memory of the World Register.
