Nietzsche Stone on Lake Silvaplana
In the summer of 1879, Friedrich Nietzsche visited the Engadine for the first time and found his summer residence in the picturesque landscape of Sils. From 1881 to 1888, he spent the summer months there, often on the shores of Lake Silvaplana. It was in this place that the idea of "eternal recurrence" came to him – a central concept of his masterpiece "Thus Spoke Zarathustra".
